Bruno Senna

Bruno Senna Lalli (* October 15, 1983 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian racing driver and the nephew of three -time Formula 1 World Champion Ayrton Senna. He was runner-up in 2008 the GP2 Series and launched from 2010 to 2012 in Formula 1 in 2013 he drove in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Career

Beginnings in motorsport

Because of the tragic accidental death of his prominent uncle, Ayrton Senna, in 1994, and of his father's death in a motorcycle accident in 1996 suppressed Senna in adolescence the desire for a racing career. Only at the age of twenty he opened his mother Viviane, Ayrton Senna's sister and Chairman of the Instituto Ayrton Senna, his plans.

Like his uncle Ayrton Senna, Bruno began his career in the United Kingdom, without ever driven a car race in Brazil. The preconditions for his career, however, were fundamentally different: Unlike his uncle Senna had any experience in karting since he beginning of his active career was already too old for it. Private training sessions with his uncle at the age of five years were the only basis for Senna's first laps in a Formula BMW in the UK. But his talent was evident and his family agreed to a few test races.

Le Mans Series

After several ruptured contract negotiations Senna signed with the French ORECA team and drove in the 2009 season in the Le Mans Series.
