2012–13 Luge World Cup
The Luge World Cup 2012/2013 was held in nine World Cup races at eight locations. The season opener took place on 24 November 2012 at the Austrian Igls instead, the World Cup final on February 23, 2013 in Sochi, Russia on the Olympic track of the Olympic Winter Games 2014. Highlight of the season was the Luge World Cup 2013, on 1 and 2 February 2013 at the Whistler Sliding Centre in Whistler, Canada, British Columbia was held. Originally Cesana (Italy ) provided second World Cup was moved to Koenigssee, so that the World Cup in winter 2012/2013 made there twice station. As last year, which now annually discharged Luge Championships was held as part of a World Cup weekend. Thus, the importance of the so far rather second-rate European Championship has been increased.
