Johannes Ludwig

Johannes Ludwig ( born February 14, 1986 in Suhl ) is a German luger.

Johannes Ludwig, lives in Oberhof and starts for the BSR Rennsteig Oberhof. The police chief of the Federal Police Sports Sciences Bad Endorf and student of Economics and Technology at the University for Applied Management Erding operates since 1992 luge. He trained at the Federal Police Sports Sciences Bad Endorf and the Bundeswehr sports promotion group Oberhof. In 2005 he won the overall title of the Junior World Cup, a year later he finished third and fourth at the Junior World Championship. In the season 2006/ 07 the Thuringian played his first season in the World Cup, where he reached number eleven in the overall standings. He achieved the best results in Park City, Calgary and Winterberg with positions five, eight and seven. In the other race, he was always classified in the top 20. In the Luge World Cup 2007 in Innsbruck / Igls he reached No. 11 In the 2007/ 08 season, he finished eleventh overall, and improved his personal best in fourth place at the race in Altenberg. 2008/ 09 Ludwig confirmed as fourth in Whistler this best performance in the overall standings, he improved to eighth. The 2009/10 season brought the final breakthrough into the world top. In World Cup race in Cesana in third place and second place in Oberhof, he managed and won first podium in Winterberg with the team relay. The European Luge Championships 2010 in Sigulda he finished sixth and won with the team relay bronze medal. After Ludwig in the season 2010/11 came into use only in six of the nine races in the World Cup and it went only once in the top ten, the 2011/12 season was again successful. At the 2012 World Championships in Altenberg, he missed 4th place just a medal. The following winter it some third places arrive at World Cup races. At the European Championships in 2013 in Oberhof, he won the bronze medal behind Felix Loch and Andi Langenhan; well in the World Cup 2013 in Whistler.
