2015 AFC Asian Cup qualification

This article addresses the qualification for the Asian Cup in 2015 in Australia.

Mode

The mode was compared to the final qualifying round not changed. Addition to the host and vice - Asian champions Australia, the reigning Asian champions Japan and South Korea are directly qualified as third in the last Asian Championship. In addition, North Korea as the winner of the AFC Challenge Cup 2012 and the winner of the AFC Challenge Cup 2014.

The remaining eleven participants will be determined by the normal qualification, in which the 20 teams were drawn into five groups of four teams. The teams will play a home-and -away basis of the two teams qualify directly for the final tournament. Among all third group the best national also reached the finals.

The draw for the main qualification was on October 9, 2012 in Melbourne, there was the following Lostöpfen, which were taken from the results of the Asia Cup and the qualifications, drawn:

  • Lostopf 1: Uzbekistan, Qatar, Iran, Jordan, Iraq
  • Lostopf 2: China, Bahrain, Syria, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait
  • Lostopf 3: Saudi Arabia, Oman, Thailand, Yemen, Vietnam
  • Lostopf 4: Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Lebanon, Hong Kong
