2026 FIFA World Cup

The final round of 23 soccer world championship of men (official 2026 FIFA World Cup, German " FIFA World Cup 2026 " ) will be held in 2026, with neither determines the organizing country an application deadline has not been set. Several associations, however, have already expressed their interest in hosting the sporting event.

Candidate

The end of the application period has not yet been posted. Members of the Asian Association shall not apply for the World Cup, as the World Cup is being held in Qatar in 2022. In addition, European associations must not apply either, since the World Cup is being held in 2018 by Russia.

The following organizations have expressed an interest in hosting:

Ecuador, Peru and Colombia

Several associations of the South American continental federation express an interest in a common host. These are the Andean Ecuador, Peru and Colombia. In the case of a discharge that would be the first World Cup, which will be held from three organizations simultaneously. For each of the three associations, it would be the first-time host, Colombia should host the World Cup in 1986 but had to cancel because of financial problems, making Mexico stepped in as host. The president of the Peruvian Sports Institute of IPD, Arturo Woodman, suggested the application. Colombia's former President Alvaro Uribe said to the newspaper El Espectador: " The discharge would be a positive and constructive proposal, which seems inconceivable ."

Canada

Victor Montagliani, president of the Canadian Football Association Canadian Soccer Association confirmed to worry about a job application. The reason he said that Canada is the only G8 country that has never played a FIFA World Cup. Currently there are only four of the required twelve stages that reach the minimum capacity of 60,000 spectators.

Mexico

Mexico, the association has hosted the World Cup 1970 and World Cup 1986, expressed interest in hosting what has become known by the association chief Justino Compean. Mexico would be the first association which discharges a world championship three times.

Other countries

Sepp Blatter, the FIFA president said that the FIFA Club World Cup 2013 could be a " real test " for a major event in Morocco. China also expressed an interest in hosting, but this is not possible as the Football World Cup 2022 already take place in Asia ( Qatar).
