(2100) Ra - Shalom is an asteroid from Aten type. This refers to a group of asteroids whose orbits cross mostly run inside the Earth's orbit and this from the inside.
Ra - Shalom was discovered in 1978 by Eleanor Helin at the Palomar Observatory. The name is derived from the Egyptian sun god Ra and the Hebrew word for peace; he reminds us of the Camp David agreement between Egypt and Israel.
Ra - Shalom runs on an eccentric orbit between 0.47 AU ( perihelion ) and 1.20 AU ( aphelion ) in 277 days around the sun. The orbital eccentricity is 0.44, the orbit is inclined 15.76 ° to the ecliptic.
Its size is estimated at 0.9 to 2.5 km. The albedo is 0.1. The asteroid rotates in about 20 hours on its axis.
