25th Berlin International Film Festival
The Berlin International Film Festival 1975 took place between July 8, 1975 June 27.
This year, the Berlinale was 25 years old and celebrated silver jubilee. After years of struggle for the participation of the GDR at the Berlinale, the Ministry of Culture of the GDR said for the first time to participate films from the GDR. Frank Beyer took with the film adaptation of the novel Jakob the Liar by Jurek Becker in competition at the festivals.

International Jury
Jury President this year was the Briton Sylvia Syms. She stood in front of the following judges: Henry Chapier (France), Else Goelz ( Germany ), Albert J. Johnson (USA), Rostislav Jurenew (USSR), Carlo Martins ( Brazil), Ottokar Hongxin ( Germany ) and S. Sukhdev (India).
