49er (dinghy)

History

The 49er skiff was designed in 1995 for the Olympic Games by the Australian Julian Bethwaite than one design. In November 1996, he was chosen by the International Sailing Federation ISAF to the Olympic class.

Hull

49erFX

The 49erFX differs from the 49er due to a different sail plan with a lower mast height and smaller sail area; the hull was taken over by the 49ers. The 49erFX is ( 49er 140 kg) for a crew weight of 120 kg and thus designed especially for sailors and young sailor suited. It is designed as a two-handed Women's Skiff at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
