50PLUS

50PLUS is a political party in the Netherlands, which seeks to represent the interests of those people who are over fifty years old. It was founded in 2009 as Onafhankelijke Ouderen -en Kinderen Unie ( Ooku, Dutch for " also" ). Founder of the party is Jan Nagel, who has previously committed to Leefbar Nederland, and today's foreman is Willem Holthuizen.

In the election to the provincial legislatures in 2011, the party received a total of 2.4 percent of the vote and nine seats. In the election for the First Chamber, 2011, the party supported the Onafhankelijke Senaatsfractie (OSF ) of various regional parties. The successful list had taken place by 50PLUS Kees de Lange. Therefore, currently two 50PLUS members are represented in the First Chamber.

In the parliamentary elections in 2012 the party won two seats.

On October 4, 2013 it was announced that Henk Krol withdraws from the Second Chamber. Reason for this is a publication of the Volkskrant on unpaid pension contributions at the Gay Krant in the period in which he was chief.
