( 72060 ) Hohhot is an asteroid of the inner main belt, which was discovered Observatory near Eloy, Arizona ( IAU code 919) by Canadian astronomer William Kwong Yu Yeung Hong Kong origin at the Desert Beaver on 23 December 2000. Had Unconfirmed sightings of the asteroid before it on May 22 and 24, 1998 (1998 KB31 ) at the Lincoln Laboratory Experimental Test System in Socorro, New Mexico, and on 8 and 9 August 1999 ( 1999 PF1 ) on the Prescott Observatory near given by Prescott, Arizona.

The asteroid belongs to Nysa group, one named after (44 ) Nysa group of asteroids (also called Hertha family, according to (135 ) Hertha). The timeless ( nichtoskulierenden ) orbital elements of ( 72060 ) Hohhot are almost identical to those of the larger, if we start from the absolute brightness of 14.7 compared to 15.2, asteroid ( 21823 ) 1999 TX72.

( 72060 ) was named after Hohhot Hohhot on 30 July 2007, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the People's Republic of China.
