  • December 24: In Diedenhofener Kapitular Karl the Great forbids the cities mentioned therein arms trade with the Slavs.

Imperial China

  • After the death of Tang Dezong is briefly his son Shunzong Tang emperor of the Tang Dynasty in China. The already ailing emperor dies after eight months, after which his son Tang Xianzong takes over the reins.
