A. F. Th. van der Heijden

Adrianus Franciscus Theodorus van der Heijden (* October 15, 1951 in Geldrop in Eindhoven, Netherlands) is a Dutch writer.

Life

His first literary attempts, he undertook as Patrizio Canaponi and received in 1979 are still under this pseudonym the Dutch Literature Prize for the best first film (for the short story collection A gondola in the Herrengracht ). He is one of the most important Dutch writers of the present and received 2011 in honor of his life's work to Constantijn Huygensprijs.

Van der Heijden grew up in the Dutch village of Hulst. He attended the Sint- Joris- College in Eindhoven, where he graduated in 1969.

Novel cycle De tandeloze tijd

Really he was known for his novel cycle The toothless time, who appeared in seven volumes, 1983-1996. It is a social and time novel with many storylines and autobiographical references. The individual novels of the cycle appeared neither in Dutch nor German in the chronologically correct order. The individual titles are:
