A1 Team France

A1 Team France (English stylization: A1Team.France ) was the French national team in the A1GP series. It won in the 2005/2006 season the title.

History

A1 Team France was founded by Jean Paul Driot whose team DAMS also since the beginning of the team fitting out (since the fourth season under the name " Connor Racing" ).

In the first season, the French were the dominant team. After a second place by Alexandre Prémat in the sprint race at Brands Hatch could enter the first double victory already in the second race weekend on the Euro Speedway Lausitz with Nicolas Lapierre at the wheel. This was followed in the season four further double victories ( in Estoril, Sepang and Monterrey by Prémat, Eastern Creek Raceway by Lapierre ) and three individual victories ( in Dubai and Sentul by Lapierre, in Durban by Prémat ) and another second place ( by Lapierre in Laguna Seca ). Already after the penultimate race weekend at Laguna Seca, the French stood firm as a world champion, overall they scored 172 points.

In the following season, the team was unable to repeat the success from the previous season. While there was a total of eight podium finishes are achieved ( four third places by Nicolas Lapierre and three second places and one third place by Loïc Duval ), a victory was the team but refused. It finished the season in fourth place overall with 67 points.

In the third season, the team was at a similar level. It was able to achieve with Loïc Duval at the wheel of a total of seven podium finishes, including a victory in the sprint race at Eastern Creek - the first in nearly two years. In Durban, the team provided a novelty by Nicolas Prost ( rookie training), Jonathan Cochet (second training) and Duval started (third practice, qualifying and race ) is equal to three riders on the weekend. It finished the season again on the fourth position overall with 118 points.

In the fourth season, the team was able to continue its prior performance. After Duval by a third place in the sprint and the victory was achieved in the feature race at the season opener at Zandvoort, followed with a second place in the Sepang sprint race another podium result. With a total of five points further results the team finished the season in fifth place overall from 47 meters.

A1 Team France has participated in all 39 race weekends of the A1GP series.

Driver

A1 Team France continued to race weekends a seven different drivers, all of whom also took part in the race itself. In addition came the second official test at Silverstone 2007 Guillaume Moreau used.

In the list of most individual victories Alexandre Prémat lies with seven (four in sprint races, three in the main race ) behind Neel Jani and Nico Hulkenberg in third place.
