Aalborg HÃ¥ndbold

Aalborg Håndbold is a Danish handball club from Aalborg. Aalborg Håndbold plays in the Danish Jack & Jones Ligaen. In the years 2010 and 2013, the men's team won the Danish championship. The home ground is the Gigantium Arena.

History

The handball section was founded in 2000 and is derived from the Aalborg HSH. They rose early in the season 2000/ 01 in the first Danish league in which they reached the 9th place. In the other two years, they improved with the 6th and 4th places in the 2003/ 04 season they participated for the first time at the EHF Cup and reached the quarter- finals where they were eliminated against THW Kiel there. At the same time they were in the league of third parties, which she qualified for participation in the EHF Cup. In the following season they were only seventh in the league and excreted in the EHF Cup from the sixteenth final against A1 Bregenz. The season 2005 /06 was not much better. By the 7th place in the league reached, they were qualified for the second time not for European Cups. The seasons 2006 /07 and 2007/ 08 were similar, so they in turn did not qualify for a European Cup. In the 2008 /09 season they were first in the league, but made ​​it into the play-offs not to win the Danish championship. The most successful season was 2009/10 when they were Danish champion for the first time, and thus for the EHF Champions League 2010/11 qualified. They defeated the KIF Kolding in a "best- of-three " system, of which they had to play all three games. In the 2010/11 season was one fifth in the league and in the play-offs of third parties, which is not eligible to participate in the finals.
