2010–11 EHF Champions League

At the EHF Champions League 2010/11 participated in 33 handball club teams, who had in the previous season in their home leagues qualify for the competition. It was the 51th staging of the EHF Champions League and the European Cup of Champions. The Cup competition began September 3, 2010, the final in the Final Four was played on 29 May 2011 for the second time in Cologne's Lanxess Arena instead. Defending champion was the German club THW Kiel. The final between BM Ciudad Real and FC Barcelona was won by FC Barcelona.

Mode

Qualification: The qualification was held in the framework of several tournaments. Three groups of four teams, with each team playing in a group once against any other team. For each group the best team qualified. The retiring nine teams moved into the EHF Cup.

Group Stage: There were four groups of six teams. In a group, everyone plays against everyone a return match; each four group best reach the knockout stages. Retiring teams not attracted into the EHF European Cup Winners' Cup.

Second round: The second round was played in a knockout system with return game. The winner of each game moved into the quarter-finals.

Quarterfinals: The quarter-final was played in a knockout system with return game. The winner of each game moved into the semi-finals.

Final Four: For the second time there was a Final Four tournament, the semifinals and finals was held on May 28th and 29th 2011 at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne. The semi-final was played in the all-in - system. The winners of each game moved into the final. The loser of each game moved into the play-off for third place.
