Issam Tej ( born July 29, 1979 in Tunis, Tunisia) is a Tunisian handball player. He is 1.87 m tall.

Tej, who plays for French club Montpellier HB top and runs for the Tunisian men's national handball team is mostly used as a circular rotor.

In his youth, Issam Tej played in his hometown at Club olympique des transports and Stade Tunisia. At age 16, he was discovered by top club Espérance Sportive de Tunis and contracted. With Tunis he was, inter alia, 2003 Tunisian champions and cup winners. In the same year, the French first division side SC Sélestat Handball to the already his compatriot Heykel Megannem was changed a year before him committed. After Tej had been elected in 2006 to the best pivot player in the league, him the top club Montpellier HB took them under contract. There he won the 2007 French League Cup. Furthermore won Tej 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, the French Championships and 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013 the French Cup.

In German-speaking Tej gained the end of September 2007 due to a tackle greater awareness. In the first preliminary round group match of EHF Champions League 2007 /08 between Montpellier HB and the German champion, THW Kiel, he is said to have the Kieler Star Nikola Karabatic fouled intentionally for his opinion, so that Karabatic fails for several weeks or months.
