Bureau Veritas

IMO no. 9308687

The Abeille Bourbon is a circa 80 -meter ocean-going salvage tug, built in 2005 and was baptized by Bernadette Chirac. Is stationed the ship in the port of Brest.

The ship has a capacity of 16,000 kW. Bollard pull of 200 tonnes. With over 25 kn ( 46.30 km / h ) wind speed, the Abeille Bourbon leaves port and patrolled the coast of Brittany, to intervene quickly to an emergency. In fog, it is anchored in the bay of Camaret -sur- Mer near the Brest harbor exit Goulet de Brest.

So the tug was alerted for example in the wreck of the TK Bremen in December 2011, but the ship did not reach in time before it ran off the French coast due.

There is an almost identical design ship, the Abeille Liberté, which is stationed in Cherbourg.
