Life
Hondius was the son of Daniel Mason Abramsz. de Hondt and went to Rotterdam in Cornelis Saftleven (around 1607-1681 ) in teaching. His earliest known work is dated 1651. He retired in 1659 from Rotterdam to Amsterdam, was 1665-1670 again in Rotterdam and from 1671 in London, where he died.
