Abu Thabit Amir

Abu Thabit Amir (Arabic: أبو ثابت عامر, DMG Abū ʿ Aamir Tabit, † 1308) was from 1307 to 1308, the fifth Sultan of Marinids in Morocco.

Abu Thabit Amir succeeds Abu Yaqub Yusuf his grandfather (1286-1307), but was unable to build on its successes. So he had to withdraw from the Abdalwadidenreich and lift the long-standing siege of Tlemcen. Moreover broke out fierce power struggles within the Merinidenclans, where Abu Thabit Amir after a short government fell victim. However, the economic and cultural development of the kingdom by the internal conflicts was hardly affected. Successor was his brother Abu Rabia (1308-1310) and Abu Said Uthman II ( 1310-1331 ).
