ACRISS Car Classification Code
The Car classification car rental is not carried out according to manufacturers or models, but after a four- digit code, called the ACRISS, SIPP (short for Standard Interline Passenger Procedures) or CRS code. The code divides each vehicle, depending on size, equipment and drive a vehicle group. The customer order, so it is generally not a particular vehicle, but only a vehicle group. Which car is obtained, then depends, inter alia, from the current stock from the store.
It laid down the code by the merger of the car rental ACRISS ( Association of Car Rental Industry Systems Standards). The use of the code is reserved for members and partners of the ACRISS This information can include: Alamo, Avis, Europcar, Sixt, Hertz and National are full members and, for example Enterprise and Budget as a partner. The code is published in English and applied worldwide.
In 2006 the code was extended. Added new categories of vehicles highly equipped (categories "elite" ) and extra large vehicles ( category " Oversize", especially the lobster ). In addition, modern drive concepts such as hybrid and LPG as well as the distinction of four-wheel were introduced. The revised code is backward compatible, the encoding can be seen below.
