Adalbert I, Margrave of Tuscany

Adalbert I ( * before 846; † after 27 May 884 ) was Margrave of Tuscany and Corsica from the house tutor of Bonifacius. He was the son of Count Boniface II of Lucca. He had large estates in Provence.

Adalbert was married twice in his first marriage with Anonsuara and in a second marriage (before April 25, 875 ) with Rothilde the sister of Duke Lambert of Spoleto. This connection come from his successor Adalbert II and another son Boniface.

Adalbert fought against the Saracens. He joined as an envoy Emperor Louis II on the dispute over the succession to Pope Leo IV and tried 878 together with Lambert of Spoleto to force the recognition of Carloman as emperor by the captive in the Leonine City Pope John VIII.
