Adalbert Schnizlein

Adalbert Carl Friedrich Hellwig Schnizlein Conrad ( born April 15, 1814 wet cheeks, † 24 October 1868 Erlangen ) was a German botanist. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Schnizl. ".

Schnizlein first completed in Ansbach and Nördlingen trained as a pharmacist. Following his apprenticeship, he attended the University of Munich to study pharmacy and eventually received his doctorate in 1836 at the University of Erlangen. Nine years later, his habilitation.

Schnizlein 1850 was appointed professor of botany at the University of Erlangen and he took over the management of the Botanical Garden of the city.

For Volume 4 Number 1 (1852 /63) of the Flora brasiliensis of the German botanist Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius he wrote about the " Lacistemaceae ". For the beginning of Theodor Friedrich Ludwig Nees publish Esenbeck Genera plantarum florae Germanicae he wrote the deliveries with the numbers 25, 28 and 31

Schnitzlein was morphologist, and systematist, and Florist an excellent draftsman.
