Adam Baldwin
Adam Baldwin ( born February 27, 1962 in Winnetka near Chicago, Illinois ) is an American actor.
Life and work
Baldwin graduated from the New Trier Township High School East in Winnetka in the U.S. state of Illinois. He made his debut in the comedy The schoolyard rats of Chicago ( 1980), in which he starred opposite Matt Dillon and Joan Cusack one of the major roles. In the comedy The anarchists Clique (1983 ) he appeared alongside Mr. T and Paul Rodriguez. One of his most famous roles are considered to have soldiers Animal Mother in the anti-war film Full Metal Jacket (1987 ) by Stanley Kubrick.
In the television film use in the inferno ( 1996), he played one of the lead roles, the same year he was in the television series Countdown X - Alarm in space to see as Colonel Jack Riles. In 1998, he starred in the award-winning miniseries From the Earth to the Moon. For his starring role in the TV movie Prophecy of the Tiger - Tiger's Revenge (1999) Baldwin was nominated in 2001 for the Video Premiere Award. In the historical film The Patriot ( 2000), he starred opposite Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger on as Captain Wilkins. In the thriller Murderous Temptation (2000) he played the role of Captain Wagner alongside Kiefer Sutherland and Rebecca De Mornay.
Science fiction fans he is for his role as Jayne Cobb in the television series Firefly - The Rise Of Serenity (2002 ) and its movie spin-off Serenity - Escape to new worlds (2005 ) is known. He also had an appearance in the first season of the television series Bones in 2005 - The Knochenjägerin. With the lead actor David Boreanaz he played in the final season of Angel - Hunters of darkness. From September 2007 to January 2012, he starred as John Casey in the action- comedy television series Chuck.
Baldwin won in 2006 a science fiction Genre Award ( Best Supporting Actor / Television) for his role as Jayne Cobb in the television series Firefly - The departure of Serenity.
Baldwin is married to actress Ami Julius and has three children. The Baldwin brothers, he is not related.
