Adjékoria (also: ADJE Koria, Adjiekoria ) is a rural municipality in the department of Dakoro in Niger.

Geography

Adjékoria lies in the Sahel. The neighboring municipalities are Birni LaLLe and Korahane in the north, Kornaka in the east, Sabon -Machi in the south and Babankatami and Ourno in the West. The municipality is divided into 76 administrative villages, three traditional villages, 42 hamlets and nine stock. The main town of the rural community is the administrative Adjékoria (also: ADJE Koria ).

History

The area of Adjékoria was settled in the first third of the 20th century by people who always moved on the south by the dry north. The rural community Adjékoria went as an administrative unit 2002 through the course of a nationwide administrative reform from the northwestern part of the canton Kornaka.

Population

At the 2001 census Adjékoria had 51 502 inhabitants. For the year 2010 69.634 inhabitants were calculated.

Policy

In the local elections in July 2004 Yahaya Garba ( PNDS - Tarayya ) was elected mayor. On 15 April 2010 the Council of Ministers Sani Salaou appointed administrator ( Administrateur Délégué ) of the communities Adjékoria, Dan Goulbi, Kornaka, Maïyara and Sabon -Machi.

Economy and infrastructure

The community is mostly in a zone where rainfed agriculture is the dominant form of employment. In the north zone of the Agropastoralismus begins. By Adjékoria the National Road 30, which connects the village with the departmental capital Dakoro in the north and the rural community Chadakori in the south where it meets the National Highway 1 runs.
