Adli Yakan Pasha

Adli Yakan Pasha (Arabic عدلي باشا يكن ) (* January 18, 1864, † October 22, 1933 in Paris) was an Egyptian politician.

Biography

Yakan Pasha was a great-grandnephew of Muhammad Ali Pasha, who established as viceroy of Egypt, ruling from 1849 to 1953 dynasty of Muhammad Ali.

He himself was in 1914 Secretary of State in the Cabinet of Hussein Rushdi Pasha and Minister of the Interior in 1919 in the reign of Muhammad Said Pasha.

On March 16, 1921, he eventually became the first Prime Minister of the Sultanate of Egypt and held this office nearly a year until March 1, 1922.

As Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Egypt, he was then on June 7, 1926 to April 26, 1927 for a government before, in which he also took over the post of interior minister. October 4, 1929 to January 1, 1930, he was finally for the third time prime minister and interior minister.

Subsequently he was for some time President of the Senate.
