Adolf Bötticher

Adolf Boetticher ( born December 12, 1842 in Blumberg ( Barnim ), † June 9, 1901 in Warnicken ( Sambia, East Prussia ) ) was a German architect, art historians, conservators and archaeologist.

Life

After studying at the Berlin Academy of Architecture, he headed from 1875 to 1877 excavations in Greece. Then he edited the weekly paper for architects and engineers. He was entrusted in 1886 with the registration of architectural and art monuments of the Prussian province of East Prussia, and in 1891 appointed conservator country and tasked with the management of the Heritage Trust of the province of East Prussia below. From 1892 to 1898 he issued eight volumes about the architectural and artistic monuments of the province of East Prussia.
