Ãed mac Cináeda
Aedh (sometimes Aed or Aoth written; * 840, † 878 ) was Scottish king 877-878 and followed Constantine I, his brother. His father was Kenneth I.
He was murdered shortly after the accession to the throne in Strathallan (Perth and Kinross ) of Giric, who had conspired with Aedhs nephew Eochaid against him.
Little is known about AEDs life. He was married, but the details, such as the date and the venue of the wedding and the name of his wife, remain in the dark. One of his sons, Constantine II, was Scottish king from 900 Another of his sons, Donald mac Aed, king of Strathclyde was 908.
