Aero A.24

The Aero A.24 was a built by the Czech aircraft manufacturer Aero plane. These were a dreistieligen biplane in a design as a bomber.

History

The A.24 was developed in 1924 at Aero as a heavy twin-engined bomber.

However, in test flights, the test pattern was found with the Maybach Mb.IV engines as extremely cumbersome, so that mass production did not take place.

Construction

The Aero A.24 was a biplane dreistieliger. The hull was built in mixture of wood and metal construction, the construction was covered with fabric. The equally long wing consisted of a cloth-covered wooden structure; all surfaces were each provided with one aileron.

The chassis consisted of a four-wheel main landing gear, the two pairs of wheels were attached to each under the engine nacelles, and a rigid tail skid.
