AGM-79 Blue Eye
The AGM -79 Blue Eye is an air - to-ground missile, which was developed by Martin Marietta. The original goal of the program was to improve the AGM -12 Bullpup. As a basis for the C version of the AGM -12 was used. Because the main problem of the Bullpup was the poor accuracy, the manual target system was replaced by a TV target system. Thus, the pilot / gunner could select the target on a monitor. The rocket then automatically sought out its target without the target had to be marked.
Under the name XAGM - 79A end of 1968 were fired a few prototypes. At the beginning of 1970, the development has been discontinued.
