Ahmad Al-Badawi Mosque

The Ahmad al- Badawi Mosque (Arabic: مسجد أحمد البدوي, DMG Masǧid Ahmad al - Badawi ) is a mosque in Tanta, north of Egypt. It is a Sufi mosque and it contains the mausoleum of the Sufi mystic, Ahmad al - Badawi (around 1200-1276 ), the in Fez ( Morocco), born founder of the Tariqa Badawiyyah ( Ahmadiyya ), the largest Sufi order in Egypt.

The present mosque was built in the 19th century. The style of the grave Mosque with its three domes and two minarets is Ottoman.

It is an important Sunni shrine (see also Ziyara ), to which up to three million pilgrims arriving at his Mawlid.
