Ahmadshah Abdullah

Malayan Name: The name component " Abdullah " is a patronymic, not a family name; the person so called Ahmadshah.

T.Y.T. Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Ahmadshah bin Abdullah, SMN, SPDK, DP, PGDK, ASDK, KMN, JP ( born December 9, 1946 in Inanam, British North Borneo ) was the ninth Yang di - Pertua Negeri Sabah, the ceremonial head of state of the Malaysian State of Sabah.

Education

Ahmadshah began his education in 1952 at the Government Primary School in Darau Menggatal and completed his education in 1967 at the height of La Salle Secondary School Tanjung Aru in Kota Kinabalu from. His studies at South Devon College in England, he graduated with a Diploma in Development Administration. At the Indiana State University in the U.S., he received a Bachelor of Science degree in political science.

Professional life

His professional life began on 1 March 1968 as a customs officer at the Royal Customs and Excise Office in Kota Kinabalu. On November 10, 1969, he was transferred as Assistant District Officer in the District of Beaufort. From April 1979 to July 1983 he was the senior officer in the service of the National Paddy and Rice Board. Further stations of his career was his work as secretary of the Commission for the public service of the state of Sabah (1983 ), Daawah officer of the Islamic Council of Sabah from October 1986 to January 1988, Sekretät of the Islamic Council from January 1988 to June 1994, Secretary in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and research from 1994 to 1995 and Director of the State Public Service Department from December 1995 to March 1998. As Deputy State Secretary of the administration he served of 21 March 1998 until his retirement on December 8, 2002.

On 1 January 2003 he was sworn in as the ninth Yang di - Pertua Negeri Sabah. He served two full terms as a ceremonial head of state of Sabah and resigned on 31 December 2010.

Private life

Ahmadshah is married to Haji Dayang Masuyah binti Awang Japar. The couple has three sons and a daughter.
