Air Wales

Air Wales was a British airline based in the Welsh Rhoose.

History

The airline was founded in January 1997 and became operational in January of 2000, the flight operations from the airport at Pembrey. The fleet consisted initially of aircraft Dornier 228 In October 2001, we moved the headquarters to Swansea Airport.

However, already at the end of October 2004, the base in Swansea was abandoned and moved the headquarters to Cardiff. The reason given was that the power line from Swansea was unprofitable and was subsidized for quite some time. On 23 April 2006, the unprofitable airline flight operations were finally discontinued. Air Wales wanted to then focus on the cargo and charter airline business, but remained unsuccessful.

Destinations

The line network consisted of a variety of routes, mostly from Cardiff. Among the targets were located next to Cardiff Paris, Brussels, Cork, Waterford, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Newcastle, Manchester, Exeter, Newquay, Jersey, Plymouth and Rennes.
