Construction of the airport began Prembrey 1937. Starting from 1939 the airport by the Royal Air Force was used among other things as a flight school. 1957 RAF Pembrey was closed and used mainly civil airport then. In 2000 the newly formed Welsh Air Wales turned her their aeronautical headquarters at the airport and served from here various routes with aircraft Dornier 228 The base has already been relocated in 2001 to Sweansea airport. Currently, the airport is used, among others, Isles of Scilly Skybus for charter flights.
