Al Mayadeen

Al Mayadeen (Arabic الميادين, DMG al - Mayadin, English Al Mayadeen written German also Al- Mayadeen ) is a pan-Arab news channel, which aired for the first time June 11, 2012 from Lebanon. The news channel intends to reduce the influence of the popular Arabic news station Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya, both news stations were founded by Arab Gulf states.

Ghassan 'm Iddo [note 1 ] is the director of the station. He was the director of Al Jazeera in Iran and Beirut and headed a popular talk show. He left the station financed by Qatar Al Jazeera in 2011 due to the coverage of the radio station on the conflict in Syria. The news channel has a network of journalists in the Palestinian territories in Gaza, Ramallah and Jerusalem.
