Albert Hassler

Albert Hassler ( born November 2, 1903 in Chamonix, † September 22, 1994 ) was a French ice hockey players and speed skaters. His daughter was the figure skater Nicole Hassler.

Career

Albert Hassler played in the 1920s and 1930s for his hometown club, the Chamonix Hockey Club, with which he repeatedly won the French league title.

For the French national team Hassler participated in the Olympic Winter Games in 1924 in Chamonix, 1928 in St. Moritz and 1936 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen part. At the Winter Games in 1924, he also participated in the 500-meter speed skating. At the European Championships 1923, he won the silver medal with his team .. At the European Championships 1924, he won with France even the gold medal.

In 2009, he was inducted into the " Temple de la reputation français du hockey ". According to him the Albert Hassler Trophy is named, which is awarded annually to the best French player of Ligue Magnus, the highest French Hockey League.
