Nicole Hassler

Nicole Hassler (born 1 June 1941 in Chamonix, † 19 November 1996) was a French figure skater who started in a single run.

Nicole Hassler's father was Albert Hassler (1903-1994), the best French ice hockey player of the Twenties and Thirties. He took over as captain of the national team at the Olympic Games in 1924, 1928 and 1936 in part, 1924 in speed skating. Later, it served as coach of his daughter.

Hassler was born in 1960 and 1962 to 1966 French champion in figure skating. In the period from 1959 to 1966, she participated in all European Championships. In 1963 she was in Budapest European silver medalist behind the Dutch Sjoukje Dijkstra. 1964, 1965 and 1966, she won the bronze medal. In the period 1958-1966 Hassler participated in seven World Championships. There she could win in 1963 in Cortina d'Ampezzo with bronze behind Dijkstra and the Austrian Regine Heitzer their only World Championship medal. Hassler played two Olympic Games. 1960 in Squaw Valley, she was Eleventh and 1964 in Innsbruck fourth.

After the completion of her amateur career Hassler not moved to the professionals and not entered in ice shows on, like most other skaters. Instead, she devoted herself to the education of their children. Only in the early nineties, they came back into contact with the figure skating world and founded a figure skating club.
