Aldabra Group

The Aldabra group is a group of islands located in the southern Indian Ocean, about 360 kilometers north of Madagascar. It belongs to the Republic of Seychelles and is counted there to the so-called Outer Islands.

The group consists of the Aldabra Atoll, the Cosmoledo Atoll, and the two islands Assomption and Astove.

The total land area is 175.91 km ² of the group. Broad, however, the group is due to several thousand square kilometers. None of the islands are inhabited regularly, but there are several stations for research and conservation of the atoll. Passers passenger ships offer day trips to most of the islands.
