Aleksey Voyevodin

Alexei Nikolaevich Voevodin (Russian Алексей Николаевич Воеводин, English transcription Aleksey Voyevodin, . Born August 9, 1970 in Marat in Penza) is a Russian mountaineers who specializes in the 50 km distance.

At the World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 1995, he finished 15th place at the 1997 World Championships in Athens, he was tenth.

In 2002 he won the European Championships in Munich, silver, 2003, he finished fourth at the World Championships in Paris / Saint -Denis, and at the 2004 Olympics in Athens he won bronze behind Robert Korzeniowski of Poland and his compatriot Denis Nischegorodow. At the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005 he came to the silver medal.

Alexei Voevodin is 1,76 m tall and weighs 58 kg. In April 2008, he tested positive for erythropoietin ( EPO) and fined for breach of the doping rules with a two- year suspension.
