Alexander Areshchenko

Oleksandr Walentynowytsch Areschtschenko (Ukrainian Олександр Валентинович Арещенко; born June 15, 1986 in Luhansk ) is a Ukrainian chess master.

In 2000 he became Junior World Champion in the U14 in Oropesa del Mar. He is since 2001 an International Master and Grandmaster since 2002. He was Ukrainian champion in the individual competition 2005. In 2009, he was an open in Mumbai and a win in Zurich in each tiebreaker.

National

While Areschtschenko has not participated in any Chess Olympiad, he was at the World Team Championships in 2011 and 2013, in which the Ukrainian team each took third place, and at the European Team Championships in 2007 and 2013, the Ukrainian selection.

Chess club

Areschtschenko won four Ukrainian team champion, namely 2002 Kramatorsk, 2007 Keystone Kiev as well as 2008 and 2009 with PVK Kiev. The Russian team championship he won in 2012 with Tomsk -400. In the chess Bundesliga since 2005, he plays for Werder Bremen.
