Alexander King Sample

Alexander King Sample ( born November 7, 1960 in Kalispell ) is Archbishop of Portland in Oregon.

Life

The Bishop of Marquette, Mark Francis Schmitt, ordained him a priest on 30 May 1987.

Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 13 December 2005 as Bishop of Marquette. The Archbishop of Detroit, Adam Joseph Cardinal Maida, donated to him on 25 January of the next year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishops Emeritus of Marquette Mark Francis Schmitt and James Henry Garland.

On January 29, 2013, he was named Benedict XVI. Archbishop of Portland in Oregon and he was introduced to the Office on 2 April of the same year.
