Alexandria Bucephalous

, Also called Alexandria Bucephalus Alexandria Bucephalous, Bucephala, Bucephalia or Boos Kephalai, was founded in May 326 BC by Greek -Macedonian king Alexander the Great. The city of Jhelum in Pakistan today is based probably on its foundations.

He named this city after his faithful steed Bucephalus, which died 326 BC in the nearby river Hydaspes during the Battle of the Hydaspes between the ages of about 30 years.

The population consisted of Greek, Macedonian and Iranian veterans and locals. The city had large yards, which could mean that it represented a trading center.
