Alexandru Apolzan

Alexandru " PITI " Apolzan ( born February 6, 1927 in Sibiu, † December 23, 1982 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian football player. He arrived in 268 games the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A, are used.

Career as a player

Apolzan began playing football in his home town of Sibiu in Sibiu Soimii. During the Second World War took him to Bucharest, where he joined the locomotive manufacturer Rogifer in 1943, in 1945 changed its name in 23 August. 1946 moved to Apolzan CFR Bucharest and arrived there on 15 September 1946 its first use in Divizia A. In 1949, CCA Bucharest (later Steaua Bucharest ) noticed him and signed him. In the 13 years that he played for CCA, Apolzan was six times the championship and win the cup five times, including twice the Double. In the fall of 1961, he finished his career.

National

From 1949 to 1960 denied Apolzan 22 games for the Romanian national football team, without, however, being able to score a goal. He made his debut on October 23, 1949 against Albania.

Career as a coach

After his playing career was Apolzan 1962-1967 Steaua Bucharest in children and young people active. Later, he worked at several clubs in unterklassigen Câmpulung, Caracal, Slatina and Mija as coach, before in 1973 he was forced to withdraw due to health reasons.
