Ali Abdosh

Ali Abdosh ( born August 28, 1987 in Harar region ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner.

At the Track - Africa Championships 2008, he won the bronze medal in the 5000 -meter run. In the same year he won with the Ethiopian team at the traditional Ekiden in Chiba.

2009 Abdosh ran the 5000 m at his victory in 12:59,65 min at the FBK Games in Hengelo for the first time under 13 minutes. At the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2009 he attracted attention when he by a collision with a competitor lost a shoe in the first round. The resulting residue thus he could not catch up to the cheers of the audience despite strong combative performance. The contest judges decided then to let start Abdosh still in the final. There, he finished at the end of the sixth. The following month he improved his personal best at the Memorial Van Damme in Brussels on 12:56,53 min.
