Alin Artimon

Dănuţ Alin Artimon ( born August 31, 1971 in Timişoara) is a former Romanian football player and current coach. He played in 61 games his playing career in Divizia A, the highest football league in his country.

Career as a player

The career of Artimon began in 1989, when he came into the squad 's first team record champions Steaua Bucharest. He made his debut on September 20, 1989 game against FC Inter Sibiu in Divizia A. The first season was the most successful of his career: In addition to the runner-up in 1990, he moved with his team to the Cup finals, where he was beaten Dinamo Bucharest. After another second place in the 1990/91 season he left for league rivals Steaua Gloria Bistrita. Here he came, however - as with its next station at FC Politehnica Timişoara - only to one single use. He went in the summer of 1993 in the Divizia C to UMT Timisoara, left the club after a year to local rivals CFR Timişoara in the Divizia B. He missed in the season 1994/95 the return to the House of Lords.

In autumn 1996 Artimon CFR left and returned to Politehnica Timişoara. As with his first engagement he had to descend from the Divizia A at the end of the 1996/97 season again. He moved within the Divizia B to FC Onesti, with whom he made ​​the ascent in 1998 perfectly. During the winter break of 1998/99 he left the club to hire again at CFR Timişoara in Divizia C. After half a year he moved to FC Drobeta Turnu Severin in the Divizia B, where he ended his career at the age of 29 years in 2000.

Career as a coach

After the end of his active career Artimon worked as a football coach. In the season 2006/ 07 he was responsible for the FCU Politehnica Timişoara in Liga 1, was replaced there after half a year in March 2007 by Valentin Velcea. In September 2008, he became head coach of CSM Ramnicu Valcea in the Liga II, where he could reach the fourth place in 2008/ 09 during the season, which is the best result in the club's history. A few days before the start of the season 2009/10 he resigned from his office, presented a week later but again available. In March 2010, he again tendered his resignation after the club president had been sentenced to a prison term of CSM.
