All the Way (Frank Sinatra song)

All the Way is a pop song written by Jimmy Van Heusen (music) and Sammy Cahn ( text ), which was published in 1957.

Use of the song and first recording

The songwriting duo Van Heusen / Cahn wrote All the Way for the movie Schicksalsmelodie ( The Joker Is Wild ), in which it is presented by Frank Sinatra, accompanied by Nelson Riddle and his orchestra. Van Heusen wrote the song with the intention to portray the loss of voice of Joe E. Lewis (the movie role of Sinatra ). To this end, he wrote a musical jump in the song that seemed particularly difficult to master for him and one should believe that he then broke off dramatically.

All the Way Award for Best Song in 1957 with an Oscar. In addition to this song Sinatra wore in the movie also against Chicago (That Toddlin 'Town ) by Fred Fisher, which was released as a B- side of the single release of All the Way on Capitol Records (CL 14800 or 20062 as EP EAP ). The single reached # 15 on the Billboard Charts and # 3 on the UK Singles Charts.
