Älvsjö
Älvsjö is a municipality in the south of Stockholm and currently has about 22,000 inhabitants.
Structure
The municipality is divided into the following districts.
Älvsjö
This district is primarily known by the Stockholm Fair located here. In the halls, which are located directly on the local train station Alvsjo held about 50 exhibitions annually. The houses of the district originated in 1909 after the completion of the station.
Herrängen
Herrängen is a hilly area, where almost exclusively smaller houses and villas are. The district belongs since 1930 to Stockholm, but was built on schedule since 1908.
Liseberg
With an area of 38 hectares Liseberg is the smallest district south of central Stockholm. The name comes from a farm that was located in this area.
Långsjö
This district is named after a lake located here. In Långsjö there are almost exclusively villas, which were built from 1910.
Solberga
Solberga emerged as an area with small houses, but many apartment buildings were built here 1950-1953. By 1969 they built here some multi-storey buildings, which were part of the Stockholm million program.
Långbro
This district also consists mainly of villas.
