Amarakaeri is an indigenous language of Harakmbet language family which is spoken in Peru along the Madre de Dios and Colorado.

The language had once tens of thousands of speakers. Many speakers of the language were killed during the Spanish conquest. Even after the end of the Spanish colonial period, the Amarakeri was largely displaced by assimilation measures and the sole introduction of the Spanish language as official and the language of instruction, so that the number to 1987 dropped to 500 speakers. Today there are less than 1% literacy rate in the language, compared with 5 to over 15 % literacy in Spanish as a second language. Amarakaeri speaker close the Kochimberi, Küpondirideri, Wíntaperi, Wakitaneri, and Kareneri Gold strains with. There is a general spread false thesis that the Amarakeri is a Arawakanische language. Alternative names are Amarakaire, Amaracaire, and Maschco; the last but considered pejorative.
