Ambrosius Holbein

Ambrosius Holbein (* 1494 in Augsburg; † after 1519 in Basel ) was a German -Swiss painter and graphic artist.

Ambrosius Holbein was a son of Hans Holbein the Elder. and the older brother of Hans Holbein the Younger. , he received his education probably in the workshop of his father. From 1515 he was possibly involved in Stein am Rhein. After 1516 its presence is detectable in Basel, where in the painters' guild in 1517 he enters into heaven and the 1518 Civil Rights acquires.
