American Humanist Association
The American Humanist Association ( AHA) is an American Association for the Advancement of humanism. The organization based in Washington, D.C. supports the concept of humanism of the International Humanist and Ethical Union, whose founding member is the AHA.
History
The AHA was founded in 1941 as a successor to the Humanist Press Association, which in turn goes back to the Humanist Fellowship. Symbol of AHA is the Happy Human. From the AHA, the Amsterdam Declaration ( 2002) is supported.
Humanist of the Year
From the AHA the price " Humanist of the Year" ( Humanist of the Year) is awarded annually.
