Forced break in 2007

In June 2007, the Amnesia hit the headlines since it was closed by the Spanish authorities for an initial period of one month. The " Bora Bora " bar and the "DC -10" were even prescribed two-month mandatory breaks. The reason for this lies in a change of the anti-drug strategy of the Spanish Interior Ministry, which has now apparently decided in view of the increasing drug excesses of the Ibiza party scene to a policy of zero tolerance. Investigation by the Guardia Civil have evidence of a tacit condoning of drug use and trafficking of club revealed what the judicial closure orders allowed. It is charged thereto on the part of the club owner 's claims of arbitrariness, since similar offenses are commonplace in other nightclubs on the island. There remains the suspicion that the Spanish authorities here want to make an example to give the drug scene in Ibiza is generally a warning.
